What is WCFC?

WCFC, West Coast Flipping Championship, is a balisong/butterfly knife flipping tournament held annually at Blade Show West. The competition features 16 flippers in a head-to-head live blade showdown for wicked sick prizes and massive bragging rights.

WCFC returns for its 6th annual competition at Blade Show West this year. The event will be in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Salt Palace Convention Center on Saturday, 3 pm, at Hall 3, October 10th, 2026.

WCFC 2026 Details: Saturday, October 10th, 2026 at Blade Show West located at Salt Palace Convention Center in Hall 3 at 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Doors open at 2:00 PM.

Compete in West Coast Flipping Championship (WCFC) 2026

West Coast Flipping Championship will feature 16 flippers in total. The 16 spots are available for online pre-registration. Wait List spots are available based on cancellations and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, starting with our wait list, until  Tues Oct 6th at midnight; then it will be 1st come, 1st served starting at noon on Oct 10th at the Squid Booth. 

Anyone who has not completed their Registration Form by Tues Oct 6th at midnight Arizona time will have their entry canceled with NO REFUND. On-site registration requires immediate completion of the paper registration form.

We highly recommend registering in advance to secure a spot. WCFC 2026 registration is $40. All competitors must have a valid Saturday Blade Show West ticket to compete. Registration will close when all spots are filled, and we will start a waitlist.

WCFC 2026 Competition Rules

1. Live blades only (no trainers)
2. No additional props (blindfolds, lights, etc.)
3. No closing, covering, or obstructing vision in any way.
4. One balisong only. No doubles.
5. No oversized balisongs or baliswords
6. No Acrobatic activities (cartwheels, back flips, front tucks, etc.).
   

WCFC 2026 Registration Process (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):
 

WCFC Registration is a 2-step process:

Step 1: Submit the pre-screen form at the bottom of this page. If you don't have an Instagram handle, leave that field blank. Choose a flipping video that accurately depicts your flipping skills and include a link.

Step 2: After you purchase a ticket, you will receive an email with a form to complete your registration. You must complete the form to be officially registered. If you do not receive an email within 24 business hours, please check your spam folder or email us through our Contact Page

 

WCFC 2026 Check-in:
 

All competitors must check in on time for both mandatory check-ins. Being late at either check-in may result in disqualification.

CHECK IN #1  12:00-1:30 PM MT*	All competitors must sign in between 12:00-1:30 pm on the day of the competition at the Squid Industries' Booth.
CHECK IN #2 2:00-3:00 PM MT*	All competitors must sign in at the stage waiting area (in Hall 3) between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

Changes to the Competition:

The 1st Round Solo is 15 seconds, judged on Flow/Complexity/Diversity of moves

 Then the Entrants are matched on those scores into a Single Elimination Round so we don't a past Comp Winner against a 1st timer.

Then we go to Double Elimination until the Final pair, where we switch to Best of 3 to get the Best of the West (Blade West, that is).

We will also drop to 16 entrants since we are giving more time for flipping.
