Inspired by the Chinese belief that eight is the most fortuitous of all numbers, the Retro 51 Double Eight has a classic octagonal barrel with double rings for elegance and harmony. The barrel is painstakingly prepared from solid bars of cellulose acetate, a natural substance that is favored for its strength, beauty and warm feel. The fountain pen has a German-made iridium nib and uses cartridges or converter. The clip and eight-sided rings are plated with platinum on the Calico Brown or Mineral Blue finishes. The Jade Green and Galactic Black have gold-plated trim.
